If You're in the Dark.

A page for the moments when life gets heavy.

Hey, you.

I'm glad you're here. I mean that more than you know.

Deep diving emotional inner work is sacred. And being a seeker like you is not for the faint of heart. Sometimes the work cracks something open that needs way more than a journal prompt or a meditation. Sometimes it surfaces something that's been buried for decades, and the weight of it is real and it's heavy and it's a lot.

That's not weakness. That's what happens when a brave human being finally stops running.

(I've been there myself more times than I can begin to mention.)

But I want you to know something: You do not have to carry this alone. Not tonight. Not ever.

If you are in pain, in crisis, or if the darkness feels like more than you can hold right now — please reach out to someone. Below you'll find support resources for wherever you are in the world. Real humans. Real help. Available right now.

The work will still be here when you're steadier. Take care of yourself first.

With so much love,

— Stephanie

Not in Crisis, But Struggling?

If you're not in immediate danger but you're feeling raw, confused, or overwhelmed by what life is bringing up — that matters too. Here's what I want you to consider:

  • Talk to a licensed therapist or counselor. Having ongoing, steady, solid support is vital on this path.

  • Reach out to someone you trust. A friend, a family member, a local spiritual leader, your sponsor — anyone who makes you feel less alone.

  • Step away from your deep diving for now. Your beautiful shadows will wait. You don't have to push through when your nervous system is screaming for rest.

  • Find a therapist near you: Psychology Today's therapist finder is a trusted global directory.

Can't Afford Therapy Right Now?

You still deserve support. Here are some genuinely low-cost and free options:

  • Open Path Collective (openpathcollective.org) — Sliding scale therapy sessions for $30–$80. US-based but growing.

  • Psychology Today Free Search — Filter by "sliding scale" in their therapist finder. Many therapists hold sliding scale spots specifically for people who can't afford full rates. Just ask.

  • Community Mental Health Centers — Most counties and cities have them. Google "[your city] community mental health" — sessions are income-based, sometimes free.

  • University Training Clinics — Grad students in supervised clinical programs offer therapy at very low cost. They're good. Google "[your city] therapy training clinic."

  • NAMI (nami.org) — National Alliance on Mental Illness. Free support groups, helpline, and peer connection. US-based.

  • 7 Cups (7cups.com) — Free online emotional support and peer listening. Not therapy, but real humans, real connection, free.

  • Your church, mosque, temple, or spiritual community — Many have free counseling or can connect you with resources.

A Word From My Guides

"The only problem in the entire universe is a perspective problem."

— Spirit

When everything feels dark and too heavy and too much — that is not a sign that you are broken. It is a sign that something inside you is ready to be seen. Ready to be held. Ready to be loved back into the light.

You are not too much. You are not too far gone. You have never been too anything.

You are a Soul on a journey. And the fact that you are here, doing this work, even when it hurts — that is the bravest thing I know.

Please take care of yourself. The world needs you well.

— Stephanie
