Feng Shui Q&A

How to Use Feng Shui for Business

This week Kat wrote to me asking,  “How to get my business going well enough so I can quit my job?”

1. Learn the lessons from the current job.

I believe everything in our life is there for a reason — not as a punishment, but as a opportunity to learn and grow (which is the inspiration behind today’s featured article above). The more you can use your current situation to unmask it’s divinely-designed lesson, the quicker it will pass through your life.

So don’t be so quick to toss out the current job, however challenging it might be. Either life is gifting you with a power lesson that is still unfolding, or perhaps your next career step isn’t quite ready for you to step into it yet. I know how easy it is to get spiritually impatient! But like a baby getting ready to be born, if it’s delivered too soon, things can end with a catastrophic outcome. But, when the time is “just right”, miracles can occur. Trust the process, take your time and go with the flow as much as possible…

2. Start building your “Space for Success” now.

Your outer environment: Make sure your current office (and the rest of your home for that matter), reflects the business you long to have. Imagine how successful you wish to be 2-5 years from now, and make sure that space powerfully reflects that “future” you. If you build it, they (or it) will come!

Your inner environment: Also take advantage of this time to work on your mindset. Cleaning up your internal “house” during this transitional time can also bring about a huge boost. Just like with your home, clearing out those internal cobwebs, blind spots or blocks that are keeping your energetic pipe from flowing powerfully and smoothly will come in immensely handy once you do leave the current job and set off on your own.

3. Carve out a Space for Silence.

My sense is that you might be in need of some career course-correcting. I’m feeling that the way you’re going about your work, or the direction you’re moving in, simply isn’t getting you where you want to go, and of course that creates frustration. But don’t worry – this happens to the best of us…

To get you turned around and headed straight up your perfect life path, I suggest that you start creating “space” — both in your home, and in your life — so that you can get quiet and become more reflective. Life speaks to us in soft whispers, so you want to quiet down your outside (and inside) world in order to hear it’s message clearly. Stay open to receiving new insights and ideas about how to move forward. Be willing to receive fresh and clear  career guidance. The world will support you in all sorts of ways — even with business dreams and work details — if you simply learn how to stop, look and listen.
